I have made the decision not to include one branch of my family in this website, and to omit them from my public tree on Ancestry. Whilst it was well known in our family who my paternal grandfather was, and this has been confirmed by DNA, the man isn’t listed on my dad’s birth certificate and he may not ever have known that dad existed. He went on to marry someone else in a different part of the country and have several children with this lady who are still alive, and I would assume know nothing about their older brother. Some of them have DNA tests on Ancestry and always appear in my matches, so I assume I appear in theirs. None have chosen to contact me, and I think it’s best to respect that.
